Position Overview

The Senior Facilities Engineer (Offshore Operations) at Murphy Oil Corporation is integral to the design, construction, and operational oversight of offshore oil and gas facilities. This role requires a seasoned engineer capable of delivering technical leadership and project management throughout all stages of offshore facility development and maintenance. The successful candidate will prioritize safety, reliability, and efficiency in all engineering tasks while adhering to regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the primary resource for offshore facilities, offering expertise on complex engineering challenges, standards, and best practices.
  • Engineering Design: Create comprehensive engineering designs for offshore platforms and associated systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Oversight: Gather project requirements from stakeholders and develop design bases that enhance operational efficiency. Manage the planning, execution, and completion of offshore projects, coordinating with contractors to meet objectives.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments, participating in HAZOPs and other necessary evaluations.
  • Operational Support: Provide technical assistance for the maintenance and operation of existing offshore facilities, addressing engineering issues and recommending enhancements.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Collaborate with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency, safety, and reliability of offshore facilities, staying informed on technological advancements.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports and project documentation, maintaining accurate records of all engineering activities.
  • Budget Management: Develop and oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while upholding engineering integrity and safety standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication throughout all project phases.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Contribute to emergency response planning and provide engineering support during emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus on Petroleum disciplines.
  • A minimum of 9 years of experience in deep-water production operations, including offshore well intervention and process facilities.
  • Proficient in using Petex PROSPER and GAP models.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with a preference for experience in MS Teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and effective communication in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to travel offshore for extended periods as required.
