Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Oversee all technical aspects related to mechanical equipment on floating production storage and offloading units (FPSOs), ensuring the maintenance of current technical documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the performance of rotating equipment offshore, ensuring safe operation within design parameters while proactively identifying and mitigating potential mechanical issues.
  • Act as the primary onshore contact for the offshore team regarding all mechanical-related matters.
  • Review and assess any proposed process design modifications, defining functional requirements for necessary design changes throughout the field's lifecycle.
  • Maintain and update the unit's engineering operations manual to accurately reflect equipment operations and modifications.
  • Conduct root cause analyses to investigate mechanical failures or performance issues with rotating equipment, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Support the operations manager and assistant with all mechanical-related inquiries.
  • Audit and evaluate the standards, methods, procedures, and competencies of subcontractors and suppliers of mechanical systems to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Ensure optimal availability of rotating equipment on the FPSO, minimizing any potential downtime.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, along with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the oil and gas or engineering and construction sectors, particularly in offshore environments.
