Job Summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Trauma Services to lead our trauma center operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring the clinical services and operations of our trauma centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee the clinical trauma services for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans and priorities for trauma care aligned to Baylor Scott & White Health business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, medical staff, and nursing staff to coordinate and deliver trauma care services and initiatives in a trauma center or assigned area of responsibility.
  • Evaluate and monitor care provided to trauma patients and lead trauma center quality and performance improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain required clinical, administrative, performance improvement, patient safety, and statistical analysis reporting in accordance with the Texas Department of State Health Services EMS Trauma System requirements and the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Trauma Center criteria.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of nursing experience in trauma center, surgical critical care, or related area; experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple departments and clinical disciplines within a large, complex healthcare organization preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Course Nurse (ATCN) required.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
