Key Responsibilities

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and ongoing evaluations.
  • Performing triage assessments in emergency situations.
  • Identifying and reporting cases of neglect or abuse.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
  • Administering medications accurately and documenting all actions.
  • Providing health education to patients and their families.
  • Monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as necessary.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution or current enrollment in a Master's program in Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a Compact RN license with Texas licensure obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per facility policy.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification is preferred.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is preferred.
