Role Responsibilities
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and regular reassessments.
- Performing triage assessments to quickly gather data related to medical emergencies.
- Identifying and reporting any signs of neglect or abuse.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Administering medications accurately and documenting all procedures.
- Providing education to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Monitoring patient progress and evaluating the effectiveness of care interventions.
Qualifications Required:
- A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, or current enrollment in a Master's program in Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license in Texas or a Compact Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification is preferred.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is preferred.
