Patient Care Assistant

Position Overview:
The Nursing Assistant (NA) position is a vital role within the healthcare team, focusing on delivering essential patient care under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses a variety of routine and predictable tasks, including but not limited to:
- Conducting EKGs
- Monitoring vital signs
- Providing basic patient care
- Assisting with patient transportation
The Nursing Assistant responds effectively to the needs of patients and their families, demonstrating an understanding of age-specific requirements pertinent to the unit or department.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program or equivalent training
- Alternatively, completion of the second semester of an accredited Nursing Program
- Relevant experience may include roles such as corpsman, EMT, foreign-licensed RN or MD, Medical Assistant, or Caregiver.
Upon Employment:
All new hires are required to obtain National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience as a Nurse Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant in a hospital or post-acute care setting is highly regarded.
