Key Responsibilities: The Maintenance Procurement Specialist - Procurement Buyer is essential in overseeing inventory management, receiving, and distributing tools, components, and equipment essential for facility operations. This role involves utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for effective inventory oversight, conducting assessments and repairs on tools and equipment, and ensuring meticulous record-keeping. The ideal candidate should have trade education or comparable experience, strong communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Daily Tasks Include:
  • Overseeing the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) spare parts necessary for operational efficiency through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Executing inventory management through manual counts, documentation, and the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS - Maximo).
  • Receiving, storing, identifying, and distributing spare parts utilized for MRO functions.
  • Ensuring Just In Time (JIT) delivery of parts, sourcing for competitive pricing, and fostering strong partnerships with Facilities Maintenance and local suppliers through effective communication.
  • Maintaining inventory levels and updating databases to guarantee precise records are consistently upheld.
  • Recommending alternatives when standard items are unavailable.
  • Evaluating the return of non-expendable items and following up on necessary repairs and maintenance.
  • Generating and sharing reports detailing the estimated arrival times for spare parts and current inventory status for preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Performing any additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing and purchasing spare parts, providing a solid foundation to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of a procurement buyer.
  • Trade education or 2+ years of relevant experience in inventory management or a related field.
  • Proficiency in utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), particularly Maximo.
  • Understanding of Just in Time (JIT) inventory management principles and sourcing for optimal pricing.
  • Prior experience in the biopharmaceutical or GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) sector, showcasing a solid grasp of industry-specific procurement standards, regulations, and best practices.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct manual inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships with Facilities Maintenance and local suppliers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills for effective documentation and record-keeping.
  • Competence in managing the return of non-expendable items, including coordinating repairs as necessary.
  • Proficiency in generating reports on estimated arrival times for parts and tools, as well as tracking items within the inventory system.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience in performing maintenance on tools, including cleaning upon their return from technicians.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
