Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Division: Facilities

Supervisor: Director of Facilities

Classification: Non-Exempt

Status: Full Time

Purpose:

To deliver maintenance services for the organization’s properties, ensuring that programming can take place in a secure, appealing, and functional environment that adheres to CARF standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal and external repairs and maintenance on agency properties. May involve coordinating with external contractors for larger projects.
  • Support the upkeep of security, fire alarm, sprinkler, and communication systems. May assist in compliance inspections with state regulations.
  • Help maintain records for fire and tornado drills, as well as annual fire extinguisher inspections.
  • Engage with local fire and police departments in case of an alarm.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel on joint initiatives.
  • Procure necessary supplies for property repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Manage and maintain departmental equipment, including agency vehicles.
  • Provide recommendations to ensure a safe environment for all staff and clients.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and moving office furniture with assistance. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Capable of operating standard maintenance equipment including drills, saws, buffers, and snow removal tools.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
  • Participate in or request relevant training as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, with experience in general maintenance, electrical, and plumbing skills.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
