Acquisition and Procurement Specialist

Role Summary

Maximus is seeking a skilled Acquisition and Procurement Specialist to enhance its operations.

This position is pivotal for managing the procurement and acquisition processes for various contracts, services, hardware, and software necessary for the development and maintenance of enterprise service capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and project teams throughout the lifecycle of projects; develop procurement strategies and documentation; lead acquisition initiatives.
  • Act as the primary Acquisition Specialist for new projects: formulate and document acquisition strategies, maintain essential contractual documents, and ensure all acquisition packages are comprehensive and compliant.
  • Propose strategies for performance-based contracting and streamline acquisition processes, assess new requirements, and provide recommendations to government officials.
  • Support oversight and compliance efforts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure adherence to contractual standards.
  • Develop procurement strategies for hardware, software, and license renewals, manage vendor relationships, and review new requirements for procurement actions.
  • Lead procurement strategy meetings and manage the overall procurement process.
  • Utilize project management tools to review and guide contract schedules and milestones.
  • Ensure effective communication through both verbal and written correspondence.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as business, finance, or management.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in government acquisition and procurement.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage complex tasks.
  • Experience in contracting IT services and cybersecurity.
  • Proficient in executing procurement planning and contract management functions.
Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with DoD policy governance and FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • DAWIA Level II/III Certification in contracting.
  • Experience as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of the DISA framework and DITCO operations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in financial management and business development.
  • Proficient in using SharePoint Standard Procurement System (SPS).
