Position Overview:

Maximus is seeking a dedicated Acquisition and Procurement Specialist to enhance our team. This role is pivotal in managing the procurement processes and acquisition strategies for our client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the client and program office throughout the project lifecycle by developing procurement strategies and documentation.
  • Act as the primary Acquisition Specialist for new initiatives, ensuring all acquisition packages are comprehensive and compliant with required standards.
  • Facilitate the implementation of performance-based contracting and streamline acquisition processes.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the procurement of hardware, software, and licensing renewals, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Lead procurement strategy meetings and manage the overall procurement process.
  • Utilize project management tools to review and guide program contract schedules.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Collaborate efficiently within a team environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as business, finance, or management.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in government acquisition and procurement.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience in contracting IT services and cybersecurity.
  • Capability to execute comprehensive procurement planning and contract management functions.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with DoD policy governance and FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • DAWIA Level II/III Certification in contracting.
  • Experience as a COR throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with DISA operations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in financial management and business development.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Standard Procurement System (SPS).
