Piper Companies is looking for a dedicated Acquisition Specialist to provide essential support for a Navy Program. This role is fully onsite and requires an active top-secret clearance.

Position Overview:

The selected candidate will work closely with the Principal Assistant Program Manager, requiring a solid understanding of US Navy Systems Acquisition and program management policies. Familiarity with Department of the Navy (DON) requirements processes, including inter-agency collaboration and Joint Service program solutions, is essential. Experience with Naval Weapons Systems, ACAT I, and Middle Tier Acquisition Programs is highly desirable.

The role involves supporting the contracting, acquisition, and program management of development, lifecycle support, integration, and testing of Navy programs. A firm grasp of DoD/DON procedures and policies (DoD 5000 processes), program scheduling, and associated requirements is crucial. The candidate must effectively interface and manage requirements from both external and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include tracking and coordinating Request for Proposal (RFP) support and all acquisition milestones, which encompass gate reviews, document tailoring, preparation, review, and tracking of milestone decisions. The ability to assist in document preparation with acquisition plans and strategies is also required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active Top-Secret Clearance.
  • BS/BA degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in US Navy Acquisition/Program Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with SharePoint or similar digital collaboration tools.
  • Customer-focused approach with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to foster a positive team environment.
  • Experience interacting and coordinating with senior government officials.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
