Position Title: Sales Account Manager for Advertising

The Daily Journal is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and driven Sales Account Manager for Advertising to enhance our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying and securing new business clients while promoting advertising opportunities across our diverse product offerings. This position demands a proactive sales approach, exceptional relationship-building capabilities, and a strong focus on achieving revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Prospecting and Sales:

  • Identify and engage potential businesses to promote advertising space in the Daily Journal's extensive product range.
  • Leverage various lead sources, including other publications, online platforms, and business networks, to discover prospective clients.
  • Participate in networking events and business meetings to cultivate a robust pipeline of potential clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients to ensure their advertising requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and support to existing accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to develop effective advertising strategies and campaigns.

Travel and Client Engagement:

  • Allocate at least 50% of your time traveling within the designated area to meet with both prospective and current clients.
  • Conduct in-person meetings and presentations to showcase the Daily Journal's advertising solutions.

Performance and Revenue Goals:

  • Consistently achieve and surpass assigned monthly revenue targets.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing sales activities, client interactions, and revenue performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in sales, preferably within the media sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally with a background in media sales.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, particularly in advertising or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with the local business landscape and market dynamics is advantageous.
  • Proficient in utilizing the internet and other tools for prospecting and research.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
