Position Overview
MBC BioLabs is on the lookout for a dedicated and driven scientist with expertise in immunology or cell biology, acquired through academic or industrial experience. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of T cell biology and will spearhead the design, execution, and analysis of both in vitro and in vivo assays aimed at evaluating the anti-tumor efficacy of compounds such as next-generation T cell engagers or CAR-T cells, utilizing MBC BioLabs' proprietary technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cell biology tasks, including the isolation, characterization, and setup of assays with primary human and murine immune cells, tumor cell lines utilized in immuno-oncology studies, and primary patient-derived cells.
- Design and implement experiments focusing on immune cell profiling, cell processing from xenograft models, cytotoxicity, proliferation, activation, cell viability, and survival assays, with a strong emphasis on flow cytometry to evaluate the functionality of bispecific antibody compounds or CAR-T cells.
- Engage in compound screening, optimization, and characterization through the application of relevant assays.
- Generate reagents for projects, including the preparation of lentivirus for the transduction of established cell lines and primary immune cells.
- Oversee study design, project management, and data analysis for animal models to assess anti-tumor effects in collaboration with external partners.
- Conduct immunological analyses related to cellular and animal models.
- Perform gene editing on primary human immune cells using advanced technologies such as CRISPR, TALEN, and other endonucleases, along with molecular biology experiments including DNA and protein preparation, immunoprecipitation, and western blotting.
Team Dynamics
- Collaborate with market segment/application leads to strategize experimental approaches.
- Interpret, document, and present data from in vitro and in vivo models, drawing logical conclusions and communicating findings to project teams.
- Conduct necessary biochemical analyses to evaluate the functions of compounds and CAR-T cells in cell-based assays, including cell killing assays and flow cytometry.
- Independently identify and implement solutions based on published literature.
- Prepare reports and present results during regular team meetings.
- Provide comprehensive support to the team regarding immunological inquiries.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. with up to 2 years of research experience in cell or tumor immunology, cell biology, or related fields, or a Master's/Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a proven track record of accomplishments and publications.
- Technical proficiency in a variety of tumor immunology techniques, including cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, xenograft models, and bioinformatics tools.
- Hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, tumor cell assays, and cytokine quantification.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Critical thinking abilities coupled with innovative and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated to contribute to the development of cutting-edge immunotherapies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the industry related to immunology or tumor research.
- Able to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
- Familiarity with bispecific antibody and CAR-T cell experiments.
- Knowledge of tumor models in mice and mouse immunology.
- Experience in T/B/NK/macrophage cell biology.
- Experience with gene editing, cell transfection, and transduction systems.
- Experience in preparing reagents for in vivo assays and conducting in vivo experiments.
- Background in protein engineering and antibody design.
- Proficiency in using biological and statistical software such as Prism, FlowJo, or JMP.
What We Provide
