Position Overview:
The Amgen Translational Immunology and Safety Sciences group is seeking a Lead Scientist to independently develop immuno-toxicological evaluation strategies and collaboratively investigate immune-related drug safety using both in vitro and in vivo methodologies to support various pipeline projects.
Key Responsibilities:
In this essential role, you will:
- Supervise laboratory scientists and foster close collaboration with toxicologists, pathologists, and other scientists within the organization.
- Design in vivo immuno-toxicological endpoints and conduct in vitro assays for diverse projects.
- Present findings to cross-functional teams.
Expectations:
The ideal candidate will:
- Independently initiate and drive projects while providing intellectual guidance to junior lab members.
- Contribute to project development and perform cellular immunological techniques, including multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD, and in vitro immune cell assays.
- Possess experience with human 3D culture systems.
- Exhibit extensive training in immunology along with strong cellular immunology and cell culture technical skills.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be highly motivated, creative, and collaborative.
- Have a proven track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in immunology.
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with 2 years of immunology experience; or a Master's degree with 5 years of immunology experience; or a Bachelor's degree with 7 years of immunology experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in immuno-toxicology is highly desirable.
