About the Role
HI-Bio, Inc., a Biogen subsidiary, is in search of a seasoned Senior Scientist to spearhead our biomarker and translational immunology initiatives across various therapeutic programs targeting multiple indications. The Translational Immunology team at HI-Bio delves into the molecular mechanisms of diseases to enhance our comprehension of how our therapeutics function. This role is characterized by high collaboration and requires expertise in translational science and cellular immunology to guide both preclinical and clinical therapeutic programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee translational research initiatives to elucidate the mechanisms of action of our therapeutics and address critical evidence gaps.
- Independently design and execute experiments, conduct laboratory work, analyze and interpret results, and effectively communicate complex findings to cross-functional teams.
- Develop clinically relevant in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models to assess the impact of our therapeutics.
- Manage flow cytometry-based biomarker assays in clinical trials, including assay development, validation, outsourcing, data monitoring, and analysis.
- Contribute to the formulation of biomarker strategies aimed at generating clinical evidence of immune target engagement and modulation of disease biomarkers.
- Act as the subject matter expert on immunological techniques and model systems in drug development, contributing to clinical development plans.
- Evaluate cutting-edge single-cell technology platforms and guide their application in translational research and clinical studies.
- Collaborate with diverse teams including discovery research, biomarker, clinical, biostatistics, and bioinformatics scientists.
- Assist in the preparation of study reports and summaries for research publications, patent applications, and regulatory submissions.
- Engage in conferences and academic collaborations within the primary research domain.
Who You Are
You are an innovative and curious scientist with robust scientific training, capable of advancing projects focused on uncovering novel biology related to therapeutics.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Immunology or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience; alternatively, a BS/MS with 6+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
- Expertise in in vitro/ex vivo cell-based methodologies, including the isolation of primary human immune cell subsets, mammalian cell culture, functional assays, and multiparameter flow cytometry.
- Proficiency in flow cytometry software (e.g., FACSDiva, SpectroFlo, FlowJo), GraphPad Prism, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong publication record in immunology or a related field.
- Exceptional oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven industry experience in applying immunological techniques to drug development.
- Familiarity with in vivo autoimmune models is advantageous.
