Position: Immunology Research Scientist

In this essential position, you will autonomously conduct experiments focused on immune-related safety assessments to bolster our pipeline initiatives.

  • Design, execute, and interpret in vitro assays centered on immune cells to facilitate safety evaluations across Amgen’s Oncology, Inflammation, Cardiometabolic, Rare Disease, and Biosimilar projects.
  • Utilize a diverse array of immunological methodologies, including the isolation and treatment of primary immune cells, mixed lymphocyte reaction assays, multiparametric flow cytometry, and ELISA/MSD/Luminex techniques.
  • Assist in the creation and validation of innovative immunological assays and cutting-edge technologies to evaluate potential safety concerns across various therapeutic domains.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support project development and assay design.
  • Collaborate within a dynamic team environment, demonstrating excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills while ensuring the generation of reliable and reproducible data.
  • Present research outcomes to Translational Safety colleagues and across interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • Recent PhD or MD in immunology.
Or
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of research experience in immunology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong foundational knowledge in immunology with robust cellular immunology and cell culture skills.
  • Ability to independently initiate and drive projects while contributing intellectually to project advancement.
  • Experience with in vitro cultured cell lines, western blotting, and RNA/DNA isolation is advantageous.
  • Proven track record of independent critical thinking and scientific accomplishments in immunology.

The anticipated annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is available. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
