POSITION SUMMARY:

The Mayor's Office on Latino Affairs (MOLA) is seeking a qualified individual to fulfill the role of Director of Operations. This position is pivotal in enhancing the quality of life for Latino residents in the District through effective management of community initiatives and public-private partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Director to oversee agency functions and programs.
  • Direct initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts within Latino communities.
  • Engage with the Commission on Latino Community Development to provide insights on legislation affecting the community.
  • Conduct research to identify and report on critical issues facing the Latino population in the District.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with non-governmental Latino organizations and governmental entities.
  • Develop strategic outreach plans to enhance engagement with Latino constituents and organizations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of Latino-focused programs and policies to ensure they meet community needs.
  • Support other District functions in addressing policy matters related to Latino constituents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-8 years of experience in public policy, community organizing, or legislative advocacy within the Latino community.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster effective partnerships.
  • Ability to analyze policies and develop innovative strategies to communicate MOLA's objectives.
  • Experience in enhancing service delivery to Latino constituents.
