Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team at the Office of the Chief Financial Officer in Washington, DC. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing support in the areas of budget formulation, execution, and monitoring, as well as contracting and procurement, purchase card administration, and time reporting review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the annual budget formulation process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of budget requests.
  • Serve as the informational contact for the contracting office, providing guidance and support on contracting and procurement procedures.
  • Maintain accurate accountability of department/program financial resources, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of progressive experience in financial operations, budget formulation, and execution.
  • Experience with financial systems, including budgeting and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting, including development and implementation of financial plans.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and policies, including the Federal Budget Act and the Government Accountability Office (GAO) standards.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of financial reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
