Reporting To: Assistant Branch Manager

Position Summary:

This role is designed to enhance the financial well-being of our members while contributing to the community. The Financial Service Representative operates under supervision to facilitate the opening of new accounts, manage existing account maintenance, and provide a range of credit union services. This position also addresses member inquiries and resolves account-related issues.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of various account types and classifications, as well as a solid grasp of credit union offerings.

Within established guidelines and sound underwriting practices, the representative will assess and recommend approval for credit applications, including consumer loans and credit card accounts. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with both prospective and current members, ensuring a positive representation of the credit union.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold the organization's mission by delivering exceptional service, treating each member with respect and courtesy.
  • Assist members with inquiries related to account maintenance and consumer loans.
  • Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage the opening, closing, and servicing of various account types, including consumer and business accounts.
  • Act as a relationship manager, proactively developing and maintaining member account relationships.
  • Track member interactions and refine sales strategies using technology.
  • Conduct interviews to recommend suitable consumer loan products and gather necessary application information.
  • Analyze financial status and creditworthiness of applicants to facilitate loan approvals.
  • Meet or exceed performance goals related to loans, deposits, and other services.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards and internal policies.

Qualifications:

Minimum: High school diploma or GED; one to three years of relevant experience or training.

Preferred: Experience in a credit union, bank, or financial institution.


Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on courtesy and diplomacy.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and software.
  • Capacity to lift up to 25 lbs and remain seated or standing for extended periods.
