Under the general oversight of the Manager of Patient Access/Scheduling, the role involves managing patient registration and pre-registration for scheduled appointments, verifying insurance coverage and benefits, and obtaining necessary pre-certifications, referrals, or authorizations in accordance with insurance protocols. This position also plays a key role in the collection of upfront revenue owed to the facility while delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Associate Healthcare Access Coordinator

In this role, under the supervision of the Manager of Patient Access/Scheduling, you will handle patient registration and pre-registration for scheduled accounts, verify insurance details, and secure necessary pre-certifications or authorizations as required by insurance policies. You will also assist in collecting upfront revenue due to the facility and ensure high-quality customer service is provided.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6 months of experience in customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a general office setting.
Healthcare Access Coordinator

The Healthcare Access Coordinator is tasked with ensuring appropriate reimbursement for patient accounts by gathering complex demographic, insurance, and medical information, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

Required Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some college coursework preferred, especially in Medical Terminology or Medical Assistance.

• National Certification of CHAA upon hire.

• Experience with registrars and third-party payers.

Senior Healthcare Access Coordinator

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of courses in keyboarding and office practices.

• 2 years of general office experience with public interaction.

• 3 years of experience in patient access.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework in medical terminology.

• Epic Credentialing upon hire.

• Experience in data entry, medical terminology, and insurance processes.

• Experience in a medical environment.

Associate Healthcare Access Coordinator, Richland, WA Min: $16.28, Max: $22.57

Healthcare Access Coordinator, Walla Walla, WA Min: $17.13, Max: $27.09

Senior Healthcare Access Coordinator, Richland, WA Min: $17.24, Max: $25.43
