Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business & Financial Analyst II/ I - Payroll Specialist to join our team at Energy Northwest. This role will provide analyst-level support for the overall administration of our payroll processing, employee reimbursements, and travel administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll and Timekeeping Support
    • Provide analyst-level support with bi-weekly time reporting and approvals, and payroll processing.
    • Assist with time entry and approval support, responding to questions, notifying leaders of errors, and helping to draft and review change management communications.
    • Act as a backup for the Payroll Specialist Lead during absence and special system upgrades and changes due to payroll and time and labor practice modifications.
    • Ensure accruals and other accounting entries are processed appropriately for payroll and benefit accounts.
    • Prepare special payroll reports and ensure all payroll account reconciliations are current.
    • Review financial data and perform appropriate analysis.
    • Act as the problem resolution focal point in dealing with payroll and time and labor system process problems that cannot be resolved by the accounting specialists.
  • Travel and Employee Reimbursement Administration Assistance
    • Coordinate and review travel expense reports, employee reimbursements, and employee medical benefit payments, ensuring compliance with policies, travel regulations, and SAO standards.
  • Team Support and Cross-training
    • Review and update desk procedures as needed.
    • Cross-train to back up the supervisor on any appropriate analyst-level actions for running payroll.
    • Assist with training Accounting Specialists peers on payroll and time and labor processing and maintain an appropriate division of work.
    • Assist the supervisor and manager with verification of teammates' work output and professional development.
    • Maintain healthy working relationships with teammates represented by bargaining units and understand collective bargaining agreement provisions.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Work with HR/IS staff to ensure that the ERP/HRMS system supports business needs.
    • Assist with ongoing Workday system testing and basic report writing.
    • Demonstrate the ability to sort data, provide clear reports, and basic analyses to leadership.
    • Assist with other appropriate duties as assigned.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Sciences, or a related field and 2 years combined experience in Payroll, Human Resources, or Finance with exposure to related work.
      • OR an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, or Finance with exposure to related work.
      • OR a high school diploma or GED and 6 years combined experience in Payroll, Human Resources, or Finance with exposure to related work.
    • Salary and Benefits
      • The salary range for this position is $78,354 - $117,530, with a midpoint of $97,942.
      • This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
