Position Summary:

This position acts as a proactive advisor for business leaders on all aspects related to personnel and culture, providing ongoing guidance and mentorship in areas such as employee engagement, talent enhancement, organizational structure, employee relations, performance evaluation, and compliance. This role will collaborate and coordinate with centralized HR functions, including Total Rewards and Talent Acquisition. The Head of People Operations will have the chance to design and implement programs across the organization and manage projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the overarching business objectives of the organization.
  • Offer guidance to leaders on performance development, employee engagement, and relations.
  • Collaborate to create, implement, and facilitate training programs for staff.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, such as Global Technology and Workplace Experience, to foster a positive employee experience.
  • Establish and maintain strong, positive, consultative relationships with business leaders and employees.
  • Work alongside Talent Acquisition to address hiring needs and recruitment strategies.
  • Lead discussions with department heads regarding high-potential talent and develop strategies for ongoing employee engagement.
  • Support the annual merit and bonus processes.
  • Collaborate with the SVP People and the Warner Chappell People team to enhance employee performance, morale, and efficiency through effective delivery of day-to-day People services and current employee programs.
  • Assist in designing and implementing new employee initiatives aligned with the People Strategy and organizational goals.
  • Play an active role in defining, promoting, and sustaining the company culture at WCM.
  • Conduct research, contribute to projects and timelines, and participate as a hands-on contributor on teams and committees supporting various People initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Total Rewards on benchmarking and salary assessments for current staff and new hires.
  • Address all levels of employee relations issues and conduct investigations, collaborating with legal counsel as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A forward-thinking, innovative perspective on HR/People & Culture.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, diplomatic, communication, and listening abilities.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Capability to present confidently and engagingly to groups.
  • Experience in conducting employee relations investigations.
  • Familiarity with Workday.
  • A genuine curiosity and willingness to explore beyond immediate responsibilities.
  • A desire to learn about the music industry and music publishing.
  • Experience with data analysis to support decision-making and planning.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and collaborative tools like Slack.
  • 8+ years of experience as an HR generalist or in a similar role.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and compliance regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Aptitude for coaching leaders and making informed recommendations to resolve issues, utilizing sound judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations.
