Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Theatrical DI Trailer Producer to join our team at Picture Head. As a key member of our marketing post-production facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the finishing of marketing A/V pieces, ensuring a seamless and timely process that meets the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between our Trailer Department and clients, working closely with studio marketing executives, filmmakers, and creative agencies to coordinate and execute the successful finishing of marketing A/V pieces.
  • Project Management: Deliver a seamless, timely, and accurate finishing process, ensuring a positive client experience and meeting project deadlines.
  • Communication: Clearly communicate with clients throughout the project, providing timely updates on timelines, workflow, approval procedures, and deliverables to align expectations between the client and our internal team.
  • Workflow Management: Partner with our Operations & Scheduling teams to define workflows, personnel, and facilities needed for each project, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime.
  • Schedule Creation: Create project schedules that take into account the entire workflow, from project inception to final deliverables, and communicate schedule and workflow changes in a timely and accurate manner to the post-production team.
  • Pre-Production Meetings: Organize pre-production meetings at the onset of each project to ensure all internal parties are in sync regarding expectations, schedules, workflows, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Team Management: Manage and oversee the work of editors, mixers, colorists, graphics, and VFX teams, helping to troubleshoot complications that may arise during any stage of the finishing process and prioritizing team workload according to deadlines and client needs.
  • Financial Management: Communicate changes to budgets, schedules, and overtime needs to both internal parties and clients as needed, and facilitate the recording of both billable and non-billable time and approve pre-bills before they are sent to the client.
  • Quality Control: Maintain Picture Head's high standards for quality and accuracy by reviewing and evaluating the final online, color, and mix before it is reviewed by clients, and assess project delivery requirements and oversee a rigorous QC process on all masters.
  • Client-Supervised Sessions: Facilitate and lead client-supervised sessions for edit/mix/color and manage talent and client expectations before, during, and after the session.

Requirements:

  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of 2D and 3D projection, P3, XYZ, HD, UHD, 4K, Dolby Vision workflows, including online editing, color correction, graphics creation, and broadcast standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to manage both projects and staff, as well as interface with clients.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Flexibility to evaluate and prioritize rapidly changing client needs while delivering projects under tight deadlines, and excellent organizational and creative problem-solving skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with theatrical post-production finishing and formats, including color spaces and a basic understanding of color science, and an excellent understanding of the whole production pipeline from pre-production through post and finishing.
  • Collaboration: The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and holistically assess projects to anticipate, communicate, and solve potential problems.
  • Education: Undergraduate degree.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5+ years of experience as a Trailer DI producer or associate producer in a marketing post-production facility specializing in Trailer finishing, with experience working collaboratively with experienced award-winning feature and show colorists, editors, sound mixers, graphic artists, and support teams.
