Job Overview

Scientific Drilling International, a leader in precision wellbore placement and drilling solutions, is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in connecting management with employees, ensuring a harmonious workplace and effective HR practices.

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist serves as a key resource within the organization, providing expert guidance on various HR issues such as employee relations, recruitment, and compliance. This role is essential in driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational performance. With a strong grasp of HR best practices and excellent communication skills, the HR Generalist significantly contributes to a positive workplace culture and supports the company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management on HR matters, promoting positive workplace relationships and employee retention.
  • Offer guidance on HR-related issues, including employee management and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement innovative policies and procedures to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Address complex employee relations challenges, conduct internal investigations, and provide coaching for resolution.
  • Oversee employee leave of absence claims, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assist in managing employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal employment laws, including EEOC, ADA, and FMLA.
  • Effectively manage Workers Compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and HR trends to maintain compliance and best practices.
  • Identify and implement effective recruitment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, from identifying needs to selecting candidates.
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify trends and recommend improvements for retention.
  • Support managers in facilitating smooth onboarding and transitions for employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Perform additional duties as required to meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of HR functions, including Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, and Recruiting.
  • Strong writing skills for creating clear and accurate HR documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and adherence to established HR processes.
  • Ability to provide professional HR support to management, fostering high engagement levels.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving capabilities in a proactive HR environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, including SAP, and knowledge of compliance issues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and personnel management.
  • Ability to effectively interact with management and staff.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5-7 years of experience in human resources.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Experience with HR systems, including HRIS and ATS; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships within the organization.
  • PHR or SHRM certification is preferred.
  • Experience in the oil field service or manufacturing sectors is a plus.

Additional Information:

  • In-office presence is required four days a week.
  • Some domestic travel may be necessary.
