About the Role

Zephyr, a leading tech-enabled home services platform, is seeking a seasoned leader to drive growth and excellence in our HVAC and Plumbing business lines. As our ideal candidate, you will possess a strong track record of managing high-performing teams, driving revenue growth, and fostering a culture of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Development: Provide strategic direction and guidance to our HVAC, Plumbing, Install, and Support teams, ensuring they deliver high-quality work on time, within budget, and to customer specifications.
  • Business Growth and Development: Develop forecasts for sales growth, market mix, and profitability, and implement plans to meet these projections. Create budgets for growth and profitability, tracking performance daily, weekly, and monthly, and disseminating results to your teams.
  • Cost Control and Optimization: Review and control costs to reduce waste and unnecessary expenditures, ensuring proper pricing and adherence through routine job costing analysis, and controlling material and equipment costs.
  • Hiring and Termination Decisions: Own all hiring and termination decisions, controlling labor allocation and costs, and ensuring the right talent is in place to drive business success.
  • Communication and Performance Management: Communicate standards, expectations, and performance targets to your direct reports and their teams, holding them accountable for achieving goals and providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Training and Development: Partner with direct reports to build targeted training programs for their teams, focusing on measurable performance improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service and Sales: Focus on providing exemplary customer service, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring repeat business by coaching your team to sell the right solutions and services.
  • Process Implementation and Compliance: Ensure sales and service system processes are implemented and followed, and adherence to industry regulations, restrictions, and laws.
  • Culture and Brand Loyalty: Promote enthusiasm and brand loyalty through daily huddles, team meetings, and one-on-one interactions, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: 3+ years of management or supervisory experience, with a proven track record of driving business growth and excellence.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with the skilled trades or similar industries, with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in this space.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to consider strategic, financial, and operational capabilities, with a high level of emotional intelligence to support a healthy and growing organization.
  • Leadership Style: Servant leader with a strong ability to inspire and motivate teams, with a willingness to roll up sleeves and solve problems with your team.
  • Education and Certifications: MBA graduate or military veteran (a plus, but not required).
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to apply critical thinking and risk analysis to develop solutions.
