Our mission is to collaborate with various University stakeholders to mitigate compliance risks and foster a culture of ethical behavior across the campus community.

In light of recent enhancements to digital accessibility regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, along with expanded Title IX guidelines and heightened enforcement of Title VI, we are seeking a Case Manager to assist with these evolving compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
The Case Manager will report directly to the Associate Director of Civil Rights Compliance and Title IX Coordinator. The primary duties include:

  • Monitoring and addressing incoming reports related to discrimination and harassment based on protected classes, including incidents of sexual harassment and violence.
  • Establishing initial contact with potential complainants, providing them with essential resources, reporting options, and protective measures as needed.
  • Facilitating necessary accommodations, clarifying policies and procedures, and serving as a liaison during formal investigations.

Specific Duties Include:

  • 35% Acting as a primary resource for students, staff, and visitors who have experienced discrimination or harassment.
  • 35% Offering academic and workplace accommodations, collaborating with relevant campus partners for effective implementation.
  • 10% Coordinating referrals to and from various campus resources.
  • 10% Accurately documenting all communications in appropriate databases.
  • 10% Engaging in training sessions aimed at enhancing awareness of available resources and institutional policies.

Diversity Commitment:
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, we recognize that diversity is a vital source of strength and innovation. We value the unique contributions of each individual and strive to create an inclusive environment that enriches our academic community. Our commitment to excellence in teaching, research, outreach, and diversity is intertwined with our institutional goals.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
- A minimum of two years of experience in providing support services to diverse populations in advocacy, outreach, education, or case management contexts. Relevant internship or student employment experience may be considered.
- Proven ability to interact sensitively and provide accurate information and referrals to a diverse audience, both individually and in group settings.
- Proficiency in electronic case management systems and basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred:
- Experience in coordinating resources within a large institution or across community agencies.
- Background in assisting individuals facing stressful or traumatic situations.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Familiarity with discrimination and harassment policies, particularly in educational settings.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time position requiring primarily in-person engagement, with limited remote work options available. The role is ongoing and renewable.

Compensation:
The salary for this position starts at $60,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is included, featuring generous paid time off, competitive insurance plans, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.
