The Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in the execution of environmental, health, and safety initiatives at the facility. This position collaborates with various departments to integrate safety into daily operations and workflows. The Specialist is also responsible for ensuring adherence to all regulatory reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of a comprehensive EHS&S program that fulfills all regulatory standards. Develop necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to EHS&S activities. Facilitate training sessions on EHS&S policies and procedures. Assist in the execution and maintenance of the audit program. Conduct and revise risk assessments in collaboration with the EHS&S Manager. Work alongside the EHS&S Manager to manage the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program. Oversee annual reporting to regulatory agencies with support from the EHS&S Manager. Lead Safety Committee meetings and conduct monthly site inspections. Guide the Safety Committee in establishing metrics for audit response times and timelines for various EHS&S initiatives. Identify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities. Ensure compliance with EHS&S standards among contractors and collaborate with different departments. Manage incident reporting in conjunction with workers' compensation and annual OSHA reporting. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications:

M.S./M.A. in EHS&S, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with no prior experience; or B.S./B.A. in EHS&S, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience; or Associate Degree/Certificate/Diploma in EHS&S or a related field with at least 4 years' relevant experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years' relevant experience. Relevant professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH) are advantageous. Familiarity with OSHA reporting requirements. Knowledge of GMP regulations, documentation, and requirements. Experience in hazardous waste management. Understanding of procedures for interacting with various regulatory bodies. Proficient in the implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001 Standards.
