Position Overview:

As a Regional Sales Leader, you will serve as the face of Merrick Pet Care, effectively advocating for our premium products through a data-driven sales approach aimed at achieving organizational sales objectives. This role entails proactive management of your designated territory while collaborating within a team environment to collectively reach sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate a localized business strategy to enhance market presence by identifying tactics, activities, and resource allocation.
  2. Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of pet products, competitor offerings, and product goals.
  3. Employ customer-centric sales techniques, continuously evaluating customer knowledge and strategies to maintain high engagement and product awareness.
  4. Ensure adherence to approved protocols and promotional materials during sales presentations.
  5. Implement the promotional sales strategy while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  6. Demonstrate an understanding of independent distribution channels.
  7. Actively cultivate knowledge of key clients within the territory.
  8. Design and deliver engaging sales presentations tailored to customer needs.
  9. Develop innovative sales strategies to connect with challenging accounts.
  10. Showcase a solid understanding of distribution networks.
  11. Conduct compelling and informative product training sessions.
  12. Engage with headquarters for chain account management.
  13. Drive positive sales outcomes within the territory.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 1 year of sales experience, or a High School Diploma (or equivalent G.E.D.) with at least 3 years of sales experience is required. Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods sector is preferred, along with a background in outside sales.

Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
