Position Overview:

The Division for Aging Services, part of the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), collaborates with community partners to provide essential resources and services aimed at enhancing the lives of older Virginians. Our mission is to enable these individuals to maintain their independence and engage fully in their communities.

Role Summary:

We are in search of a dedicated Human Services Program Coordinator. This role is crucial in improving the quality of programs offered through Virginia's Area Agencies on Aging. The selected candidate will provide vital information, training, and technical support, ensuring adherence to Federal and State regulations while delivering services that enhance the quality of life for older Virginians and help delay unnecessary institutionalization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on caregiver issues and related programs within the Commonwealth.
  • Oversee the Virginia Lifespan Respite Voucher Program.
  • Facilitate the Virginia Caregiver Coalition.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge/Experience: Experience working with older adults and family caregivers, along with a solid understanding of compliance monitoring for federal and state requirements. Proven experience in coordinating federal grants and analyzing complex information to prepare statistical and narrative reports. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom. Strong capability to develop and deliver training, conveying information clearly to diverse audiences both orally and in writing. Competence in assessing and updating internal processes related to assigned programs.

Additional Considerations:

Familiarity with local and state government operations and the Older Americans Act (OAA) is advantageous.
