Position Summary:
The Immigration Paralegal will play a vital role in assisting with various aspects of immigration cases, including humanitarian applications.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in an immigration law office is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Attention to detail and strong spelling and diction are necessary.
  • Reliability, empathy, and the ability to handle sensitive issues are crucial.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian immigration applications (such as VAWA, U, and T visas) is expected, along with the foundational knowledge required of an experienced immigration paralegal.
  • Proficiency in a second language is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with clients to confirm and clarify information, and preparing legal documents for VAWA, T visa, and Adjustment of Status applications.
  • Editing affidavits and immigration forms as directed by attorneys.
  • Monitoring deadlines and court dates, ensuring timely filing of immigration applications.
  • Communicating with USCIS and EOIR regarding case statuses.
  • Assisting attorneys with legal research as necessary.
  • Collaborating effectively within a structured team environment, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
