Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Advanced Patient Care Technician to join our team at Medical City Plano. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient-centric care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other relevant data.
  • Document observations, interactions, and patient responses to performed activities, and report any physical or behavioral changes to the RN/Team Lead.
  • Assist with mobility, including regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients, and help with the use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
  • Provide or assist with non-medicated care, including non-sterile dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, and venous compression devices.
  • Collect specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of all labels and transfer of specimens.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination, and change bed linens as needed.
  • Perform hourly rounding and respond promptly to call lights and patient requests, aiming to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, or obtain within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
