Responsibilities:
The HVAC Branch Manager supervises technicians responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial clients.
This role involves direct collaboration with service and installation technicians, dispatch teams, and fellow managers to ensure customer satisfaction while achieving departmental objectives.
As a senior representative of the company, the Branch Manager frequently engages with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication regarding job or project status and requirements.
Conducts interviews, screens, and assesses HVAC technicians to meet workload demands.Plans, directs, and provides technical guidance to HVAC technicians to fulfill service requirements and customer expectations.
Evaluates technicians' work, methods, and safety protocols to ensure quality standards are met, and offers recommendations for enhancing quality and productivity.
Identifies training needs among staff and facilitates a regular training program to ensure HVAC technicians are well-versed in the latest service techniques and safety protocols for equipment and general working conditions.
Ensures compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices. Guarantees that appropriate employee safety training and compliance are completed.Responsible for conducting staff performance evaluations and setting improvement goals in line with company standards.
Engages with technicians in the field to resolve customer and technician issues.
Maintains regular communication with dispatch to ensure personnel are scheduled appropriately based on skill level, efficiency, and training needs.
Communicates daily with dispatch regarding project updates, estimated job completion times, labor hours, and materials used.
Reviews work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy while maintaining minimal accounts receivable.Develops and oversees budgets, goals, and objectives to ensure departmental profitability.
Maintains communication with vendors and factory representatives regarding warranty concerns, product recalls, operational issues, premature failures, and other matters.
Monitors assigned service vehicles to ensure they are maintained and operated in accordance with company policy, and that an adequate inventory of parts and materials is kept.
Qualifications:
5+ years of proven experience in HVAC and Refrigeration service management.
Preferred: Two years of technical training or a bachelor's degree.
Ability to perform advanced maintenance and service on HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems.
EPA Universal Certification
Valid driver's license
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and assignments.
Ability to generate innovative ideas and create processes to enhance the service department.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to collaborate effectively with management, executive leadership, support staff, and technicians.
Willingness to work a non-standard schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary.
