Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Insurance Underwriting Assistant. This role involves supporting the Underwriter in evaluating, quoting, and finalizing new submissions, as well as issuing certificates of insurance and invoices for both new and renewal business. The Underwriting Assistant will also manage the renewal process, ensuring that all data is accurately entered into our systems and handling change requests efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Underwriter with the processing, quoting, and binding of new submissions.
  • Review applications and proactively request any missing information.
  • Issue confirmations of binding evidence and invoices for new business.
  • Perform data entry tasks in the Quote and Policy Issuance Databases.
  • Apply necessary changes to rates and endorsements for renewals and generate renewal quotes.
  • Process Evidence of Insurance for renewals and invoices, ensuring accuracy in the underwriting database.
  • Handle mortgagee changes and issue revised certificates of Evidence of Insurance to mortgagees.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Two years of experience in commercial property casualty insurance is preferred.
  • A Property & Casualty license is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong data entry skills and experience with web/database searches.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000, depending on experience.
