Commercial Excellence Leader

The Sales Manager will play a critical role in driving value-added initiatives for WestRock's customers and internal operations. This position requires a strategic thinker who can partner with key customers and commercial teams to drive value by implementing best practices, including Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Commercial Excellence: Partner with key customers and commercial teams to drive value by implementing best practices, including Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies, to identify opportunities that will provide commercial benefit to both WestRock and our customers.
- Strategic Growth Thought Partner: Participate as a strategic growth thought partner for our commercial teams, providing guidance and support to drive business growth and improvement.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with Lean Six Sigma professionals and Operational leaders across Atlanta and the South region to improve processes and increase effectiveness within our plants.
- Annual CIP Goals: Lead the successful achievement of our annual CIP goals by executing monthly and quarterly targets.
- Pipeline Development: Develop a pipeline of customer and internal projects tied to cost savings and revenue generation.
- Commercial Excellence Best Practices: Implement Commercial Excellence best practices to exceed Area continuous improvement goals.
- Customer-Facing Content: Develop customer-facing content and tools for presenting value-added improvements.
- Profitability Monitoring: Monitor profitability levels to track progress against budgeted targets and analyze monthly financial summaries.
- Market Dynamics: Understand market dynamics and business drivers that define long-term commercial strategies and have an impact on Area and develop strategies to reach company objectives.
- Revenue Streams: Develop working relationships with WestRock facilities to create opportunities for additional revenue streams across the enterprise.
- Change Agent: Function as a Change Agent for implementing new processes with our customers and internal operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify value-added opportunities to improve margins.
- Trusted Advisor: Develop Trusted Advisor status with WestRock's customers.
- Education: Bachelor's degree; Technical degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience with progressive growth in leadership and business impact.
- Certifications: Certified Black Belt with demonstrated ability to consistently deliver financial results.
- Lean Training: Lean Training with demonstrated practical application.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial acumen with the ability to create financial models used to support project selection and determine net project value to the P&L.
- Continuous Improvement: Enthusiastic about Continuous Improvement and ability to make others successful.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Demonstrated ability to coach, teach, and mentor technical and non-technical teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, and working knowledge of MURAL.
- Communication: Clear and effective communicator at all levels.
- Change Management: Manages and drives change.
