Position Summary:


In this role, you will collaborate with diverse global teams to spearhead the execution of localization launch strategies for the US market. Your primary focus will be to cultivate a culture of excellence where all team members can flourish and work together. You will liaise closely with our Action League team members and report directly to the VP of Globalization.


Your responsibilities will include working alongside Operational Managers, Quality Managers, Vendor Managers, and Project Managers who oversee the successful execution of projects for our clients. Ensuring high quality, reliability, consistency, and cost-effectiveness within the department will be your key objectives. You will identify improvement opportunities, support the team, and deliver top-tier services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Overseeing localization initiatives from inception to completion, collaborating closely with internal localization teams including Project Managers, TADs, Designers, and Quality Managers.
  • Creating and managing internal versions of localization project plans.
  • Partnering with Localization Operations Managers and Quality Managers to develop and implement project workflows for enhanced efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Collaborating with Localization Operations Managers and leaders to establish methodologies, tools, and checklists that refine the project management process.
  • Identifying and resolving localization challenges or conflicts, whether systemic or product-related, by determining root causes and implementing corrective measures.
  • Assigning and overseeing project team members' tasks as necessary.
  • Guiding team deliverables to meet timelines and product quality standards, ensuring responsiveness and professionalism towards clients.
  • Working closely with the sales team to broaden project scopes and manage account maintenance within PM teams through effective communication.

Leadership:

  • Motivating team members to consistently align with company and league objectives.
  • Encouraging innovation and automation among team members in their work processes.
  • Building team capacity through recruitment and decision-making in collaboration with the P&C league.
  • Leading project kick-off meetings, weekly and ad-hoc meetings, and OKRs cadence meetings for issue resolution and conducting post-mortems.
  • Continuously expanding knowledge and education in localization trends and news through active participation in training opportunities.
  • Designing and implementing training programs to enhance the skills of internal teams.
  • Providing project-specific training to PM, TAD, and Quality Enhancement teams.
  • Training on workflows, time management, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality control for PMs.
  • Identifying and executing opportunities to enhance asset quality and production pipelines for the localization team.
  • Ensuring team compliance with established standards, practices, and policies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in managing content localization.
  • BA/BS or 2+ years of equivalent experience in localization, internationalization, project management, or program management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of translation technologies, including translation memories, translation management systems, and machine translation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different time zones and cultures.
  • Ability to maintain focus under pressure, prioritizing and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of client expectations within the localization industry.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with large corporations.
  • Vendor management experience, demonstrating the ability to set expectations and hold vendors accountable to KPIs.
