Role: Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the primary representative and advocate for the mission of Karen Andrews Group, ensuring the organization consistently achieves its objectives through strategic initiatives, effective planning, and financial stewardship.


The CEO is a visionary leader capable of steering the organization through transformation and growth, actively engaging with community partners and stakeholders.


Reporting Structure: Reports to the Board of Directors


Core Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provides innovative leadership in crafting strategic visions and plans alongside the Board and staff, ensuring successful implementation of priorities.
  • Maintains an informed perspective on trends and developments in the arts sector to ensure the mission and strategy reflect cutting-edge practices.
  • Collaborates effectively with board members and staff to realize the organization’s vision and strategies.

Resource Development and Community Engagement:

  • Advances the mission through building and sustaining relationships with key community stakeholders and partners.
  • Engages actively within the community to foster collaboration and support.
  • Manages a targeted portfolio of potential donors, setting annual goals for engagement and fundraising activities.
  • Diversifies funding sources to enhance organizational sustainability.
  • Oversees successful grant application processes and maintains strong relationships with donors and partners.

Team Leadership:

  • Builds trust and rapport within the team through authentic engagement.
  • Implements recognition systems for staff and creates channels for feedback and idea sharing.
  • Leads a high-performing team, overseeing recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Clarifies roles and responsibilities, ensuring effective personnel management practices are in place.
  • Fosters a work environment that attracts and retains diverse talent.

Communication:

  • Represents the organization in community forums and arts agencies.
  • Keeps the Board informed about significant activities and organizational matters.
  • Reports on performance metrics and alerts the Board to any financial concerns.
  • Enhances community awareness of the organization’s mission and activities through effective communication strategies.
  • Develops and contributes to communication materials such as reports and digital content.

Financial Oversight:

  • Ensures sound financial practices, including overseeing the annual audit.
  • Collaborates with staff and Board to prepare and manage the budget.
  • Promotes operational excellence through effective use of technology and consistent practices.

Short-Term Objectives:

  • Assess all organizational activities to ensure alignment with strategic impact.
  • Engage deeply with the rebranding strategy and evaluate its effectiveness.
  • Understand the community-centric approach to program delivery.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of executive experience with a proven track record in stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in non-profit or arts organizations with a focus on meeting diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Proven success in fundraising and donor relations.
