College Event Coordinator

Event Planning Role at Penn State University
The Events Specialist at Penn State University plans and organizes large-scale events, collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand objectives and develop event budgets. This role involves directing personnel to ensure operations run smoothly on the day of the event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise customers on developing event plans, including objectives, venue selection, decor, sequence of events, layout of spaces, equipment rentals, and catering requirements
- Generate event work orders and communicate with internal stakeholders
- Manage inventory and maintain documentation through applicable software programs to track performance and assist in business development efforts
- Monitor activities to ensure regulatory and policy compliance, participant satisfaction, and problem resolution
- Conduct post-event evaluations and coordinate services such as accommodations, transportation, tours, and event security
- Provide backup administrative support to the Operations Department in the areas of purchasing and financial assistance
