The Woskob Family Gallery, operated by Penn State's College of Arts and Architecture, seeks highly motivated individuals to serve as exhibition assistants throughout the academic year. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our galleries, with a focus on art handling and event coordination.

Job Summary: The Woskob Family Gallery seeks to hire exhibition assistants to aid with gallery upkeep and maintenance, as well as assisting with handling and dismantling of shows. Selected candidates will be responsible for keeping supply inventory and staffing gallery events.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $25,000-$35,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description: As an exhibition assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Aiding with gallery upkeep and maintenance, including cleaning, organizing, and preparing exhibit spaces.
  • Assisting with the handling and dismantling of exhibitions, including installing and removing artwork, displays, and other exhibit components.
  • Keeping supply inventory, including ordering and managing materials, equipment, and other resources.
  • Staffing gallery events, including receptions, openings, and other exhibitions.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in art handling or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
