Position Overview: Global Citizens is in search of a dedicated Student Enrichment Facilitator to engage and support learners during our Enrichment Wednesdays.
Our Mission: At Global Citizens PCS, we aim to inspire and equip the upcoming generation of global citizens. Our goal is to assist students, aged 3-11, in achieving their full academic and leadership potential within a supportive educational environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Commitment to School Mission and Vision
- Implement a unified school mission and vision to foster each student's social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Engage in data-informed instruction and continuous improvement strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Reinforce the mission with students and families, motivating them to embody the mission daily.
- Reflect on teaching practices and modify approaches and systems as necessary.
- Collaborate with fellow support educators and staff to ensure effective and consistent delivery of our instructional framework.
Creating an Equitable and Inclusive School Environment
- Exemplify ethical, equitable, and professional conduct, demonstrating integrity, fairness, cultural awareness, and empathy towards students and colleagues.
- Contribute to a professional school culture that emphasizes building relational trust among staff.
- Establish personal and professional development goals to enhance well-being and professional effectiveness.
- Engage in professional development and coaching cycles facilitated by the Principal and other instructional leaders.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Student Enrichment Facilitator is accountable for ensuring that students feel safe, engaged, and enthusiastic about our enrichment program each Wednesday. The program will encompass various subjects, including art, music, dance, theater, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese languages, and STEM.
- Adhere to the Wednesday schedule provided by the Extended Learning Coordinator while keeping students involved in enjoyable, hands-on learning experiences.
- Establish and maintain high academic and behavioral expectations for students.
- Be available to assist other Student Enrichment Facilitators and the Extended Learning Coordinator.
- Protect the school culture within the program by fostering a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning atmosphere.
- Implement systems and establish clear expectations and routines that align with the school's overarching vision.
- Ensure student safety at all times, which includes monitoring students in classrooms, hallways, during recess, and at other school-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma.
- At least two years of classroom experience, preferably in a public school or urban environment.
- Extensive knowledge of learning standards and student-centered curricula.
- An energetic, adaptable, creative, and innovative individual capable of developing strengths-based, student-centered support strategies.
- Ability to collaborate and teach through the lens of diversity, equity, justice, and inclusion.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Compensation Details
The salary for this position is $25.00/hour.
