Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize your technical skills to effectively diagnose and repair Power Systems equipment, completing service reports, preventive maintenance checklists, and timecards in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Leverage your understanding of SIS, ET, parts, and service manuals to manage service tasks efficiently.
  • Take charge of assignments, appropriately segment tasks, and order parts as required for smooth project execution.
  • Exhibit your dedication to customer satisfaction by clearly communicating job status to clients and office staff.
  • Conduct thorough visual inspections and testing of both Cat and non-Cat engine and generator sets, documenting any deficiencies as part of preventive maintenance services.
  • Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance and testing on Cat and non-Cat engine and generator sets to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the maintenance and repair of electric power generators is required.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of efficiency and cleanliness.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the capacity to follow instructions are essential for success in this role.
  • Exemplify Altorfer's professional image through effective communication skills and a robust work ethic.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills by preparing technical reports and utilizing resources for information as needed.
  • Basic proficiency in Office software, particularly MS Word, Excel, and email, is expected.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary for consideration.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

This role involves a dynamic mix of field and shop environments, primarily at customer job sites. As a Union Power Systems Technician, you may be required to walk, bend, and lift weights ranging from 75-100lbs on a regular basis.
