About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team at KLM Careers. As a key member of our automation team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning control systems for industrial processes and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control system architectures, selecting components and detailing schematic diagrams and system documentation.
  • Program controllers (PLC, DCS/Delta V) and develop databases for archiving/displaying historical system data.
  • Implement and commission control systems at client facilities, ensuring they meet customer requirements.
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions, mentoring less experienced engineers and guiding them in their work.
  • Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and associated budgets, as well as oversee daily operations and activities of projects up to $10M.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Greater than 8 years of experience in the field, with capabilities in areas such as Emerson DeltaV platform, PLC5 to ControlLogix conversions, and HMI/SCADA hardware/software platforms.
  • Indepth understanding of PLC hardware/software platforms, such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and Modicon, as well as DCS hardware/software platforms, such as Emerson DeltaV or similar.
  • Project Management experience with a PMP certification is a plus.
  • Understanding of Batch/Recipes, OEE, MES, and ERP systems, as well as experience in industries such as Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food and Beverage, Water Treatment, and general manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the design of electrical schematics and control panels, including power distribution under 480VAC and associated NEC references.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and industrial networking, used to connect control system components and instrumentation.
  • Experience leading a team of engineers/technicians to provide control system solutions.
