About the Role

Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Fleet Services Technician. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform licensed DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Work with the service writer to assess customer needs and provide information or assistance
  • Manage concurrent tasks and prioritize work activities and time allocations
  • Act with integrity and maintain confidentiality
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings on repair orders
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or close to standard repair times
  • Communicate with the shop manager and support team to obtain approvals and discuss repair estimates
  • Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
  • Participate in and complete all company required training
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASE T8 (PMI) certification
  • ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
  • ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
  • ASE 608/609 certification
