Position Overview

The Business Systems Analyst role at Lorien focuses on leveraging analytical expertise to support internal stakeholders in ongoing enhancement and innovation initiatives aimed at addressing system and technology challenges. This position is essential for developing solutions that meet the growing needs for data automation, reporting, and visualization across key systems.

This individual will serve as a crucial link between the IT department and various business units, working diligently to gather and articulate solution requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners and IT colleagues to identify opportunities for optimizing systems through enhanced automation, reporting, data visualization, and improved business processes.
  • Document existing business processes by evaluating the current operational model and its technological integration. Analyze and assess these processes to pinpoint areas for enhancement. Develop comprehensive requirements documentation, visual models, business process diagrams, functional specifications, data models, use cases, and process flows.
  • Engage with business teams and IT peers to assess feasibility and validate functional and reporting requirements.
  • Implement project management methodologies; prepare work estimates and timelines for delivery.
  • Design test cases to cover business processes and system functionalities; execute testing and analyze defects for resolution.
  • Partner with business stakeholders during deployment, including training, change management, and communication efforts. Support stabilization activities, including documentation of issues.
  • Manage personal workload to ensure timely delivery according to project schedules; take accountability for outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Research & Development, Manufacturing, or Distribution system environments.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Experience in working with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements, integrating business insights with technical solutions.
  • A strong desire to learn new systems and technologies in a dynamic software environment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple diverse initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and significant experience in analyzing large datasets across various systems.
  • Familiarity with modeling, analytical, and problem-solving techniques, with the ability to apply business knowledge to support decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications (not mandatory)

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Prior exposure to data analytics tools like AWS Glue, AWS DataBrew, OCI Data, Integration, Data Flow, Data Catalog, OCI Data Science.
  • Basic knowledge of Python programming.
  • Understanding of process automation software such as UI Path RPA, Document Understanding, AI.
  • Experience within complex systems environments, including any of the following software types:
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
  • Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • System Integration
  • A working knowledge of Research & Development, Process Manufacturing, and Distribution methodologies.
