About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our team at The Employee Connect. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing project management and hardware engineering leadership in delivering automation systems for a wide variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, and associated budgets. Prioritize and schedule tasks, track time, and report on project progress.
  • Hardware Engineering: Design, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery. Develop control system architectures, select components, and create schematic diagrams and system documentation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions. Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Technical Expertise: Have in-depth knowledge of controls hardware, including control panel design, UL508A familiarity, motor control centers, hazardous area panel design, and industrial instrumentation. Experience with multiple voltage levels and industrial networking protocols.
  • Business Acumen: Ensure the overall profitability of projects. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience: Greater than 10 years of experience in design of electrical schematics, hazardous location control system design, and control panel production process. Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS platforms.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, well-balanced people skills, aptitude for business efficiency, and interest in creating partnerships. Ability to work independently and lead a team.
Travel and Working Environment

Ability to travel up to 25% around the Chicago area with occasional out-of-state travel to surrounding states. Standard office environment, on-site office environment, diverse industrial environments, frequent use of a personal computer, facsimile/copy machines, and phones.
