Role Overview:

The Project Executive plays a pivotal role in securing construction projects and ensuring their successful execution as the designated executive in charge. Success in this position is defined by the ability to win business and maintain client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This involves strict adherence to project schedules, budgets, and the exemplary safety standards upheld by Clayco.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader currently serving as a Project Executive, Director, or Senior Project Manager within the construction sector. Experience with large-scale and intricate industrial distribution centers, manufacturing, or food and beverage projects is essential. A background in collaborating with third-party Real Estate Developers focusing on industrial, distribution, manufacturing, or food and beverage sectors is required. The successful candidate will be a mentor and an effective communicator, passionate about leading construction teams and nurturing future leaders at Clayco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a comprehensive Business Plan
  • Drive Business Development in the Market
  • Lead the team in RFQ/RFP/GMP submissions
  • Negotiate contracts with project owners
  • Oversee field staff during project setup and execution
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with safety, financial, schedule, and quality standards
  • Foster and maintain client relationships
  • Take ultimate responsibility for project delivery
  • Maintain thorough understanding of Clayco/Owner contracts
  • Monitor project costs and Job Cost Reports
  • Track project labor projections and expenses
  • Play a leading role in Preconstruction services for bidding projects

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in construction management or operations
  • 8+ years of extensive business experience in Distribution Center, Manufacturing, and/or Food and Beverage projects, with individual project values exceeding $40 million or managing multiple smaller projects concurrently (design-build preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction principles and practices
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a flexible approach to collaboration
  • Proficient in leading project teams, managing subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work
  • Skilled in developing successful project teams and maintaining external relationships
  • Creative, results-driven, and possesses a strong sense of urgency
  • Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively
