Role Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Project Executive is to secure construction projects and oversee their successful execution as the leading executive. Your performance will be evaluated based on business acquisition and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This involves ensuring that projects adhere to established schedules, budgets, and the high safety standards upheld by Clayco.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader currently serving as a Project Executive, Director, or Senior Project Manager within the construction sector, with extensive experience in managing large-scale industrial distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, or food and beverage projects. Experience collaborating with third-party real estate developers in these sectors is essential. The right individual is a mentor and effective communicator, passionate about leading construction teams and nurturing future leaders within Clayco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a comprehensive Business Plan.
  • Drive business development initiatives in the market.
  • Lead the team in preparing RFQ/RFP/GMP submissions.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients.
  • Oversee field staff during project setup and execution.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with safety, financial, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Maintain and foster client relationships.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for project delivery.
  • Ensure a thorough understanding of the Clayco/Owner contract.
  • Monitor project costs and Job Cost Reports.
  • Oversee labor projections and associated costs.
  • Play a pivotal role in preconstruction services and project bidding.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in construction management or operations.
  • 8+ years of significant experience in Distribution Center, Manufacturing, and/or Food and Beverage projects, with individual project values exceeding $40 million or managing multiple smaller projects concurrently (design-build experience preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction principles and practices is essential.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a flexible approach to working with diverse individuals.
  • Proficient in leading project teams, managing subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-performed work.
  • Skilled in developing successful project teams and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Creative, results-driven, and possesses a strong sense of urgency.
  • Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
