Role Overview:
The primary role of the Project Executive is to secure construction projects and ensure their successful execution as the designated executive in charge. Your performance will be evaluated based on business acquisition and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This will involve maintaining project schedules, budgets, and adhering to the highest safety standards set by Clayco.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a proven leader currently serving as a Project Executive, Director, or Senior Project Manager within the construction sector, with extensive experience in large-scale industrial distribution centers, manufacturing, or food and beverage projects. Experience collaborating with third-party Real Estate Developers focused on industrial, distribution, manufacturing, or food and beverage sectors is essential. The right individual will be a mentor and communicator, passionate about leading construction teams and nurturing future leaders within Clayco.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate a comprehensive Business Plan
- Drive Business Development in the market
- Lead the team in preparing RFQ/RFP/GMP submissions
- Negotiate contracts with project owners
- Oversee field staff during project setup and execution
- Ensure successful project delivery, focusing on safety, financials, schedule, and quality
- Maintain strong client relationships
- Assume ultimate responsibility for project delivery
- Thoroughly understand the Clayco/Owner contract
- Monitor project costs and Job Cost Reports
- Oversee labor projections and costs
- Play a leading role in Preconstruction services for bidding projects
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in construction management or operations
- 8+ years of extensive business experience in Distribution Center, Manufacturing, and/or Food and Beverage projects, with individual project values exceeding $40 million or managing multiple smaller projects simultaneously (design-build preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required
- Thorough understanding of construction principles and practices
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, adaptable to various individuals
- Proficient in leading project teams, managing subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work
- Skilled in developing successful project teams and maintaining external relationships
- Creative, results-driven, and possesses a strong sense of urgency
- Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively
