Role Overview:

The Project Executive is primarily responsible for securing construction projects and ensuring their successful execution as the designated executive in charge. Success in this role is measured by business acquisition and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This includes maintaining project schedules, budgets, and the highest safety standards upheld by Clayco.

Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a leader currently serving as a Project Executive, Director, or Senior Project Manager within the construction sector, possessing substantial experience with large-scale industrial distribution centers, manufacturing, or food and beverage projects. Experience collaborating with third-party Real Estate Developers in these sectors is essential. The ideal individual will be a mentor and effective communicator, passionate about leading construction teams and nurturing future leaders within Clayco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a comprehensive Business Plan
  • Drive Business Development initiatives in the market
  • Lead the team in preparing RFQ/RFP/GMP submissions
  • Negotiate contracts with project owners
  • Oversee field staff during project setup and execution
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with safety, financial, schedule, and quality standards
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for project delivery
  • Thoroughly understand the Clayco/Owner contract
  • Monitor project costs and maintain Job Cost Reports
  • Track project labor projections and expenses
  • Play a pivotal role in Preconstruction services for bidding projects

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in construction management or operations
  • 8+ years of extensive business experience in Distribution Center, Manufacturing, and/or Food and Beverage projects, with individual project values exceeding $40 million or managing multiple smaller projects concurrently (design-build experience preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering is required
  • Thorough understanding of construction principles and practices
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a flexible approach to collaboration
  • Proficient in leading project teams, managing subcontracts, subcontractors, and/or self-perform work
  • Skilled in developing successful project teams and fostering relationships with external stakeholders
  • Creative, results-driven, and possesses a strong sense of urgency
  • Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, capable of working independently as well as in a team setting
