Role Overview
In the capacity of Project Architect, you will play a pivotal role in a range of design initiatives, conducting research and analysis to bolster our diverse and forward-thinking Industrial Design practice. This position involves supporting the leadership team of the practice, aiding in the growth and expansion of our presence and portfolio through strategic project pursuits and client engagement. The Project Architecture Staff collaborates closely with colleagues and will engage across LJC disciplines as well as with parent company Clayco's construction and real estate sectors to deliver projects that are seamlessly integrated within the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the comprehensive design of projects and/or the development of construction documentation.
- Act as the primary liaison with contractors and consulting engineers.
- Manage one or more team members effectively.
- Lead design teams in crafting proposals for prospective clients.
- Organize and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Develop thought leadership in technical architecture and design.
- Facilitate discussions within the local and regional design community.
- Recruit and interview potential candidates to ensure the growth of the practice.
- Represent LJC at community and civic events.
- Embody LJC's core values of integrity, humility, and fearlessness.
- Guide and contribute to LJC's Core Councils (Culture, Integration, Practice, Process, and Sustainability).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in architecture and design.
- Must hold a valid architectural license.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD/Revit, and MS Office.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable and poised when presenting to both internal and external audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building and colleague mentorship.
- Skilled in client communication and relationship development.
