Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional human resource services to our employees, including benefits administration, payroll processing, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on benefits, leave, FLSA, payroll, human resource transactions, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), workers' compensation, and other human resource functions.
  • Interpret and apply human resource policies and procedures, and consult with management and employees as needed.
  • Resolve issues between Human Resources and Payroll, Department of Human Resource Management, Budget, and Department of Accounts.
  • Encourage and promote a positive work environment by modeling the way and utilizing creative means to improve customer service delivery.
Requirements
  • Extensive working knowledge of generalist human resource functions, including leave administration, complex payroll transactions, employee benefits, and workers compensation.
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State laws, policies, and procedures related to human resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and apply human resource policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advance knowledge in Human Resources, a related field, or equivalent applicable experience or training.
  • Professional Human Resources certification.
